Warning! This article contains spoilers for Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode #13

With the release of Episode 13 titled “On to the Next Target,” Solo Leveling season 2 came to an end after cementing itself as a standout manhwa adaptation and one of the best anime of Winter 2025. Furthermore, Solo Leveling Season 2 exceeded viewers’ expectations every Saturday with its nerve-wracking cliffhangers, so its ending after a short course leaves a great void in the hearts of fans. However, this goodbye is probably only temporary since there is still a long road for fans to enjoy Solo Leveling’s story with another season.

With Solo Leveling’s original web novel and manhwa being completed, there's still plenty of available material for those fans who were left craving more. Moreover, the international success of the adaptation by A-1 Pictures hints that Solo Leveling’s anime is far from over. So here’s a guide to Solo Leveling season 3 that fans should know before the anime’s big comeback.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Release Date

There Is Still a Long Wait Ahead for Fans of the Series

Fans are eagerly awaiting confirmation of Solo Leveling Season 3, but unfortunately, so far neither the series’ producer Aniplex, nor Studio A-1 Pictures (who produced the first 2 seasons) have confirmed the renewal of the anime. However, due to the success of the series and the compilation film Solo Leveling –ReAwakening– which premiered worldwide, everything indicates that it's just a matter of time before Solo Leveling Season 3 releases.

The animation producer of Solo Leveling, Atsushi Kaneko, recently stated that Episode 25 will mark the end of the series for the time being, and whether this end is temporary or definitive isn’t settled yet, but the series’ continuation will depend on the public's support. This statement hints that the gap between Solo Leveling Season 2 and 3 will be longer than in previous seasons.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Studio

Solo Leveling’s Studio A-1 Pictures Is Currently Working on Other Projects

It's mostly certain that Solo Leveling Season 3 will be produced by the same studio from the first two seasons, A-1 Pictures. However, the words of Atsushi Kaneko hint that A-1 Pictures might take a break from the series while the team works on other anime projects. For example, Fate/Strange Fake, whose first episode aired at the end of 2024 and hasn’t released any more information about it since.

Also, even though being renewed seems like a certainty for Solo Leveling Season 3, there is also the possibility that the project will pass into the hands of another studio like it happened in the past with other anime. A-1 Picture also has several other projects for this year, including Fate/Strange Fake, a compilation film Aldnoah.Zero (Re+), the film Uta no Prince-sama Taboo Night XXXX, and Lycoris Recoil short movies, and while they are not that many, could still delay Solo Leveling Season 3 production

Solo Leveling Season 3 Story Details

Solo Leveling 3 Will Start With the Ahjin Guild Arc

There haven’t been any story details officially released so far, but fans can expect Solo Leveling Season 3 to continue Jinwoo’s journey as he levels up and faces even stronger opponents and meets news hunters while unveiling the secrets surrounding the gates in the world. Solo Leveling Season 2 introduces many new characters who also play a role in the upcoming story arcs, especially those whose plot lines are still far from being completely explored, like Jinwoo's father, Sung Il-Hwan, Hwan Dongsoo, the National Level Hunter Thomas Andre, and the mysterious beasts that appeared in front of the Knights guild.

Moreover, it's still unknown if Solo Leveling Season 3 will include more original content and if it will follow the same 13-episode formula or rather go with a two-cour adaptation. Solo Leveling’s first season adapted 45 chapters of the manhwa, covering seven arcs up to the Job Change Quest, where Jinwoo gained the Job Class Monarch of Shadows after fighting the Blood Red commander, Igris, who became one of his shadow soldiers. Likewise, Solo Leveling season 2 also covered seven story arcs from the Red Gate Arc up to the Jeju Island Arc (skipping the short Recruitment Arc) ending in chapter #110 of the manhwa and #132 of the web novel.

This way, Solo Leveling Season 3 will pick up right where the second season ended, with Jinwoo clearing that unexpected Red Gate and starting to settle his new guild, the Ahjin Guild, along with his friend Jinho. Additionally, more details have been revealed about the system and the appearance of Jinwoo's father and the unknown beasts in Solo Leveling Season 2, episode 13, teasing that fans will get the answers to all the mysteries surrounding why Jinwoo was chosen as a player. Solo Leveling Season 3 might cover multiple arcs, probably until the International Guild Conference Arc, which ends in chapter 147 of the manhwa.

What to Expect from Solo Leveling’s Anime in the Future
There are Several Seasons Ahead for Solo Leveling's Franchise

Solo Leveling Season 2 has had an unprecedented reception and international success, as evidenced by the several records broken by the series on Crunchyroll and other streaming platforms. Given that Solo Leveling’s manhwa is already complete with 179 chapters and an epilogue, and the last episode of Solo Leveling season 2 covered the events of chapters 45 through 110, the upcoming potential installments still have over 90 chapters to adapt, meaning there should be more than enough material for studio A-1 Pictures to pull from.

This could be equivalent to at least 2 more seasons for Solo Leveling, which might increase if the anime also includes original scenes and adapts all the content from the web novel that wasn’t included in the manhwa. Moreover, A-1 Pictures could follow the recent trend of anime ending their run in a film adaptation, showcasing Solo Leveling’s final arc in theaters around the world.

For the time being, fans should probably expect the announcement of a compilation film that covers the events of Solo Leveling Season 2, similar to what followed the end of the first season. Solo Leveling Season 2 blew viewers away thanks to its incredible animation, Jinwoo’s character development, and the amazing battles he endures in this installment, which took him to the top of the power level among his fellow Korean S-Rank hunters. Yet there is still a world to face ahead for JInwoo, teasing more on the horizon for the franchise.
